The Outpost is a private project studio owned by recording engineer Chris Puram and located in Sherman Oaks, CA. Our main goal in building the studio was to provide a comfortable relaxed environment for music production and a very affordable alternative to large commercial facilities.
      Chris has numerous platinum records and a long list of credits to his name. Please check the link at the bottom of this page for more info regarding his background..We are currently using this studio for major label projects as well as smaller independent productions. Mackie D8B 72 channel (56 input) Digital console
The fully automated and instantly recallable D8B is an easy to use and incredibly powerful digital console. It's also the best sounding small format digital console on the market. Our console is maxed out with 4 FX cards (2 MFX & 2 UFX) with a full complement of plug-ins including Massenberg EQ, Final Mix, TC Electronics FX II, the full collection of Acuma Labs plug-ins and of course the Mackie multi FX plug-ins.

Digital Audio Workstations / Multitrack Recorders:
Digidesign Pro Tools Mix 3 System & Windows XP DAW
The heart of the studio is our Macintosh based Pro Tools Mix System. Between our 3 mix cards and the power of the D8B, full scales mixes are handled easily. We have many plugins available, far too many to list here. The Pro Tools system is capable of 64 tracks internally and has up to 48 outputs to the D8B. In addition to the Pro Tools Rig we maintain a high end Windows XP workstation with various software including Nuendo, Cubase VST, Acid Pro, Soundforge, Cool Edit Pro 2.0, Reason, Etc. This machine is also loaded with virtual synths, thousands of loops and a large selection of samples.
